I got my first piano lesson of the school year today. My teacher was incredibly happy that I got 80 on the grade 9 practical exam. Also the grade 10 syllabus looks horribly demanding. I must work hard to pass before university work next year swamps me completely.
SO I've been off to school for the past week and have had quite a time adjusting to waking up at a decent hour, learning chemistry and stuff, and lugging large textbooks books there and back. Also, I haven't really been drawing anything impressive, but I have a WIP colour picture and a bunch of the nicer inked doodles I've drawn this week.
Generally I'm trying to get comfortable with more dramatic variations in line weight to that people will stop calling my art anime after a passing glance. Also the curly-haired person is a rather unmanly man
Since I am too lazy and cheap to go out and find myself some decent white scratchboard, I attempted to make something which acts a bit like scratchboard using white poster paint and my India ink.
I went to FanExpo in Toronto on the 29th, and I'm just getting around to posting about it now.
I went with flarkcon, who has posted something about his FanExpo experience [here!] And before I start rambling, I offer up one of the three sketchbook pages I filled while there.
